Ricky Chan

So here's my story.  Many years ago, I turned to recreational running to get better.  The first step onto the track was one that was extremely difficult to take but I knew an exciting journey was in front of me.  The road was bumpy, as I had imagined, and my early running days were filled with setbacks.  I had every excuse to scrap my plans but I managed to hang on, while adding a few steps each time.  Slowly but surely, I saw results and felt the difference both mentally and physically.  That momentum fed my desire to 'stay on track' and to wonder the possibilities of personal fitness.  Fast forward to today.  What an INCREDIBLE journey it has been!  A running resume which includes the New York City Marathon (23 finishes and counting), a runDisney Dopey finish, a few ultras and countless numbers of half marathons, 10Ks, 5Ks, etc.  After logging nearly 30,000 lifetime miles, I am better!  Now it's finally time that I run to help others get better.  Where better to start than in one of the world's most iconic venues of professional sports?  On the evening of September 15, 2017, I will be running in the Inaugural Fenway Park Marathon!  WOO-HOO!  I, along with 49 other runners, will run 112 laps (26.2 mile distance) along the warning track of the oldest ballpark in America.  In doing so, I pledged to fundraise a minimum of $5,000 for the Red Sox Foundation, the official team charity of the Boston Red Sox.  I ask that you support this charitable organization in my name to help subsidize grants to local schools, hospitals, health and social service programs, youth sports foundations, local community service projects and the Jimmy Fund (cancer research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute).  Your tax-deductible donations will help me, but more importantly, it'll certain help others.  Any amount would be very much appreciated. Thanks everyone, peace and LOVE!  Ricky.
