I'm excited to announce the Inaugural Fenway Park Marathon!

It will be held on Friday, September 15, 2017.? This is one of the only marathons held entirely inside a major league sports facility.? Only 116 laps around the warning track and I'll be done.? Think I?m going to be dizzy by the end of this race.

When I finish this race it will be my 46th marathon, on my way to my goal of doing 50 marathons by 50 years old.? At 48, I'm within striking distance of achieving this.? Why ?50 by 50?, you may ask?? Well, it was the number that came to me when I ran across the finish-line of my first marathon (Boston) at the age of 28.? I decided right there and then that I'd do 49 more marathons, and do them all before I turned 50.? When I ran my 30th and 40th marathons I thought, you know you could have picked ?30 by 50? or ?40 by 50?, but what fun would that have been??

During this quest I've gotten to run many different marathons such as Portland, Hyannis, Providence, Napa, San Diego, Chicago, Dublin, Marine Corp, NYC (my favorite).? These would not have been possible without a very understanding and supportive family (my wife Anne Marie, and Caroline, Eileen and Nora, our 3 daughters).

For this marathon I?ll be raising at least $5,000 for the Red Sox Foundation.? Below is some information about this great organization:

Red Sox Foundation Mission

The Red Sox Foundation is the official team charity of the Boston Red Sox. Their goal is to harness the passion of fans for the Red Sox and transform it into a vehicle for positive exchange in our community. Main Charities this group supports are:

Dimock Center
Jimmy Fund
MA Little Leagues
New England Service Scholarship Programs
Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital Home Base Program
Red Sox Foundation RBI Youth Baseball and Softball Program
Red Sox Scholars Program

So as I mentioned I?ll be fundraising for this event and I?d appreciate your support very much.? If you not sure what to give for a donation, you could do a $1 a lap for a total of $112, but any donations of any amount are appreciated.? You can donate online or by check.? Please use the form on this website if you are paying by check, this way they?ll know that you are sponsoring me.

I?m looking forward to this unique marathon on September 15th and I?ll be sure share lots of pictures of the day. ?The Ballpark is going to be open on race day to spectators and I?ll share more information about this as it becomes available.? Between now and then I have a lot of training and fundraising to do. ?

Thank you for your support.?
